How did you get selected to be the host for the Top Affiliate Challenge?

To be TOTALLY honest, I initally auditioned as a contestant. I wasn’t (and am still not) an affiliate marketer. In fact, I didn’t even know what in meant to be one until a few days after starting the show! So long story short, I auditioned…tried to pull out of the competition when I realized I had NO idea what I was up against and was subsequently asked by production to come on board as a host. I accepted!

Many contestants were dissapointed with the organization and budgeting of the show. How did you feel the show turned out to be?

EEK! Quite the question. Well considering we are still filming, I have to be very careful what I say. I can say that the episodes came a long way from the first two showings. Everyday was an improvment, so all in all — we worked with what we had and I can’t imagine anyone else out there doing a better job with the time frame we were allotted.

I noticed your new blog on John Chows site….. What made you start blogging and are you looking to achieve from your blog?

Actually the contestants here persuaded me to start blogging. Wes Wyatt helped me in purchasing the domain name and John Chow helped me organize the site so that it was coherent. I didn’t know what I would start writing about, but I guess LUCKY for me, I was dumped that very night — gave me some material to work with. All things happen for a reason, right? ;o)

Are you considering a career in internet marketing?

Considering? hmmmm…I wont say it hasn’t crossed my mind, but I dont think I will do it.

Don’t forget to check out Monica’s new blog.

Hope you enjoyed this interview.

You may or may not have heard of Ian Fernando. He is an emerging blogger and an upcoming super affiliate. Before talking to him I thought he maybe a little full of himself like many of the A-List bloggers.

To my surprise he was the one who contacted me first. He has had major success with his blog ianfernado.com as well as success with making money online. I asked him if he would be open for a quick interview for my blog and he was happy to do so. So here it goes…

1. What turned you towards making money online and creating your blog?

Ian - This is a funny question, due to the fact it was myself or maybe even my family that made me move to the online marketing atmosphere.

In the beginning I went to college and have had issues with student on campus and got into trouble. Along with the trouble I received poor grades. Though i picked up my greades second semester it was not enough to stay into college.

I then went to a county college and got into trouble there as well but with good grades. After 3 semesters of useful but pointless information I decided to stop school and take the world on my own. Once I updated my family I was booted out of the house for not completing school.

I was working 3 jobs at that time to live in a decent size apartment and I had to find a way to work towards a better life, I didnt want to struggle. Online marketing is what I found and found it easy to make some money to help remove one job, then another! I was surpised!

I stuck to online marketing ever since.

2. What monetziation method are youhaving the most success with?

Ian - Affiliate marketing is the best way for me to monetize websites. It is easy and you can see quick return almost right away. Other ways that I think are fast is digital creations; almost immediately you can see a return and it is a 100% return as well.

3. Who influenced you the most on your online quest?

Ian - I can say my dad, just because he actually started to see it work and believes in the power of the internet. He believes in me and my work so much now. prior to internet marketing he did not believe it was the real deal, but after helping my sister with school and just buying things for my brother and sister and my overall family he sees the big difference and sees the changes personally in me.

My dad is a great person and is a very simple person he is very supportive in what I do for my future.

Go check out Ian’s blog.
